OUR TERRACE SUITE

RIAD BERBERE

One of the best stays of my life. Sexy riads aren’t rare in the city of Marrakesh, but Riad Berbere is top top top game. Hidden inside the centre of Medina, only five suites available. The whole place is ran by a very chic French lady and designed by her architect sister. Belgium linen used through out the common areas, traditional mint team and morrocan dessert served right upon entering. Their attention to detail is extreme. All the decors and collectibles are curated from both local markets as well as around all around Europe. A studio to read or work in, a rooftop to dine in, a traditional hammam and spa room on site, a garden pool in the centre that feels like an oasis - the lounge surrounded is the best place to read and nap.  We stayed in the loft suite that split floors that also has a huge terrace to chill at night.  The service there is 24/7, from making us desserts on request to picking us up in alleyways during the night. Everything is perfect.

SEE

MADRASA BEN YOUSSEF

Must must visit. Once a Isalamic school of religion built in the 14th century, an authentic Morrocan architectural treasure that’s tucked away in the medina. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowd.

SHOP

SOUK MARKET

Souk means market. Great place to treasure hunt but so easy to lose a day here - they have anything and everything all at once. From food to handcrafted souvenirs, antiques, clothing... you name it. Always always bargain on the price but with respect.

DAR YACOUT

Our first dinner on arrival and simply the most magical night. Set menu only that provides a dip of everything traditional - the portion is HUGE by the way, Milk Pastilla is my absolute favourite. Rooftop drink, live music, candle lights and dining by the pool - a pefect way to glipmse Morrocco. Price point is high for Marrakesh but the atmosphere is priceless.

EXPLORE

MEDINA

Medina simply means city, but is refered to the old city part of Marrakesh that is now a world herriatage site. 100% recommend to stay inside the Medina if this is your first visit. The souks, historical sites, the Jemaa el-Fnaa square are all close by. Super easy to get lost inside and both google and apple maps doesn’t really work effectively. Motorbikes, donkeys and dirt everywhere but the christma of this old part of town is what Marrakesh really is about.

SHOP

SOUFIANE ZARIB

CHEZ LAMINE HADJ MUSTAPHA

Simple and traditional food inside the Jemaa El Fna, very authentic vibes. If you’ve watched Gordon Ramsay’s show Roadtrip this is where Gordon, Gina and Fred went. Tanjia and Mechoui lamb is def worth a go.

NO NAME FOOD STALL

THE BEST GRILL IVE EVER HAD. IN MY LIFE. The only place we had twice in the same day. Chicken liver wrapped by mutton fat is insane!!!! 1/4 chichen is soooo juicy and crispy too. It’s cheap even for Marrakesh... Forgive me for not being able to give a more specific location as it’s only a stand, click in ‘map’ below to see rough location.

SEE

LE JARDIN SECRET

An oasis inside of the medina that’s built centuries ago. Mixture of a beautiful exotic garden and a traditional Islamic garden, with a gazeebo and a root terrace cafe inside. Perfect place to rest your feet and for a iced drink in between destinations.

STAY

LA MAMOUNIA

The most iconic and luxurious hotel in the newer part of the city, and allegedly Winston Churchill’s favourite. My photos do not do this place justice. Super elegant decor, luxury boutiques inside and a huge huge garden. Worth a visit to the bar or lunch by the pool even you are not staying in a room here. Please dress appropriately I believe there is a dress code in place.
